-- HARDING (1) - 32 - nurse - gentle - amiable - devoted - katie mcgrath

Married young because she was pregnant, the Hardings have had marital issues for quite some time. With their impending divorce, the couple thought it would be a good idea to spend their child's 17th birthday together as a family one last time, so they saved some money and took a trip to Red Kauri Resort. In all the chaos HARDING (1) and HARDING (2) were separated from HARDING (3). Her job as a nurse has given her useful medical skills but nothing could have prepared her for the living dead.

Being married so young because he was going to be a parent really took it's toll on HARDING (2). He was driven to drinking just that little bit too much and spending quite a lot of time away from home. He would do anything for his son, which is why he knows HARDING (3) is better off with his mother. And also why he agreed to this holiday, something he's regretting now. With his child missing - and his alcohol - HARDING (2) knows he needs to clean up his act if he and his wife are going to find their son.

For ANDERTON (1) this vacation was supposed to be a pleasant break from college stresses. A way to spend time with his family before his sister too went away to college and left their parents alone. It was not supposed to be a traumatising experience full of zombies and death. After barely escaping with his and his sister's lives from a room full of zombies preoccupied with snacking on their parents, ANDERTON (1) has no idea what to do next or how they're going to survive.

This young girl is growing up fast. Just days ago ANDERTON (2) was a former high school student, waiting to start college, vacationing with her family. Now she is an orphan, trying to find a way to survive impending zombie doom and keep her brother from getting killed.

One thing is well known in the modern world. Never, never mess with a bride and her wedding. This includes her honeymoon. She'd had it all planned out, she was going to spend a beautiful week with her new husband before settling in to married life and going back to work. Then the undead had to go and attack and ruin it all. She has no idea where her husband is, but she believes he's alive. She plans to find him, and god help any zombies who get in the way of bridezilla.

As far as 17th birthday presents went, it actually hadn't been a bad idea. Despite the shadow of his parents impending divorce hanging over his head, HARDING (3) had been really looking forward to it. The resort was supposed to be super kickass, not to mention haunted church? Supposedly with zombies underneath? Best. Vacation. Ever. Until of course the zombies turned out to be real and overran the island. And now he doesn't know where his parents are or how he's going to get out of this one alive.

A nice tropical vacation for the girl from small town Christchurch quickly turned into a complete nightmare. It was supposed to be some nice bonding time between her and her mother, with her sister away at school and her father on business. And then zombies attacked, and poor ROCKELL watched in horror as her mother was eaten. Now she's stranded and alone and really wishing she'd paid more attention to all those horror movies.

SCOTT (1) just wanted to get away from fame a little, take a nice vacation somewhere exotic. What he did not want to be doing was fighting for his life against a horde of the undead. Which were real somehow?? What he wouldn't give now to be his brother, the one with all the military training. But no, he had to be the one with the good looks and the great singing voice. What good was that in the middle of the freaking apocalypse?!

SORENSEN (2) loves his wife more than anything. He had hoped to show her a wonderful time during their honey moon before they both went back to working ridiculous hours and hardly ever seeing each other. The zombies put a bit of a dent in that plan. SORENSEN (2) is confident that he will find her again and they will go back to their normal boring lives.

BRYANT (1) here is forever on the brighter side of life. Even with all the zombies and death and chaos, she manages to stay positive and strong, if only for the sake of the others. It was meant to be a nice get away with friends before heading back to college. Not so, sadly. Several of her friends are dead now - or worse. But she refuses to voice her sadness or worries because someone has to hope that they could survive this.

When the world turned to shit and BRYANT (2) suddenly found himself in the middle of a zombie war, it was only natural for him to take charge. He wasn't sure what to do at first, with some of his friends trying to snack on others of his friends. But he fought his way out and took as many of his friends with him as he could. They were 10. Now they're 3. He relies on his cousin BRYANT (1)'s brightness and hope to keep him from going crazy as he tries to keep them all alive. Especially since his best friend MATTHEWS isn't coping too well.

MATTHEWS had planned to propose to his girlfriend on his trip before returning to college, but now she's zombie food and he hasn't taken it very well. He's on a revenge trip, plans to take the whole lot of them down, and if he's not careful he'll get himself and the rest of his friends killed.

-- DARWIN - 25 - tour guide - genius - clumsy - considerate - logan lerman

DARWIN has always been a genius, and believe it or not, the last name was really just a happy coincidence. He graduated high school at 14 and had two degrees by the time he was 20, and has never really had much of a chance to enjoy being young. So at the request of his equally socially awkward best friend, the two of them moved to the island in hopes of living it up - that was, until the best friend got zombied and DARWIN had to put a fork to his brain. He has always had a thing for AUSTEN and vows to protect her.

-- AUSTEN - 23 - entertainer - vain - soft hearted - flirty - annasophia robb

AUSTEN has been singing, dancing, and acting since childhood. She once dreamed of moving to Los Angeles and making it big, but being from a relatively low-income family in New Zealand she was never really able to move too far away. When a spot opened up at Red Kauri Resort she snatched it up right away in hopes of making enough money herself to finally make the big move to the states - but that dream now seems to be crushed. She has a good heart, but her own insecurities have led her to being a bit stupid in the dating category.

After his fiancee dumped him just days before their wedding three years ago, PROPHET went on a bit of a bender that he can't seem to get off of. He became someone who lacked desire for responsibility and slept with as many women as he possibly could, but when his father died and left him the resort, his party life came to an abrupt and shaky halt. Having to take on this new role has been very difficult for him, and he is not adjusting well - but he really is trying. All he wants to do now is get as many people off the island as possible so he can get back to trying to find himself at the bottom of a bottle. He holds the key to the family safe around his neck for safekeeping.

HENDRIX has served two terms overseas and has seen way too much death and destruction to last him a million lifetimes. After being injured the second time and honourably discharged form the army, HENDRIX needed a change of pace. His post-traumatic stress acts up and makes him slightly paranoid at times, and yet he does not share his past with anyone - at least not yet. Now with death around him once more he must choose whether or not to succumb to the stress of it or use his training - something he's been trying to forget - to save as many lives as possible.

CHARLES DENIZEN - 43 - security - devious - mercenary - cruel - eddie mcclintock

DENIZEN has been planning on robbing the resort for some time now. He took a job as a security officer to try and learn as much about the resort as he possible can before making his move - and it seems that the only one who knows where the PROPHET family vault is, is the last PROPHET alive - who has the key around his neck at all times. His whole plan went up in smoke the minute the undead started to attack, so he needs to scramble to make a new one - and if more people have to die because of it, then so be it. DENIZEN is heartless and selfish, but also very good at hiding it, making him almost as dangerous as the zombies.

ALEXANDER POWER - 25 - lifeguard - joker - adaptable - selfless - colton haynes

POWER is just your typical all around every day guy. He doesn't try to go out of his way to make friends or meet women, because people just tend to gravitate toward him and his lame jokes (especially when he's feeling awkward). He came to the island on a bit of a whim with a bunch of college buddies, most of whom now have been turned or are dead. While he does grieve for them, POWER tries to keep his head and has decided to freak out about it later... but before that, he needs to find as many other survivors as possible, and keep himself, and his best friend LENNON (2), and their new little baby friend, alive.

-- LENNON (1) - 52 - lighthouse keeper - level headed - stubborn - old fashioned - sean bean

Being a single father was not easy on LENNON (1), and he struggled from the beginning to be able to provide for his daughter. Not being able to find work in New Zealand, he moved himself and his young daughter to the island once the resort opened up, and he took the position as lighthouse keeper. He loves the ocean and has always felt a connection to it, so he is happy to work and live in his little tower. While he is kind and loving toward his daughter, that's about as far as his emotions will go - he can be a bit short or blunt toward anyone else.

ROSE LENNON - 22 - front desk clerk - confident - sarcastic - blunt - danielle campbell

LENNON (2) has always taken pride in the fact that she works at the resort, but that pride didn't stop her from getting the most complaints from customers out of anyone… ever. She is far too hard headed to accept abuse from people, so she will not bother to hide her emotions. When the resort was overrun with zombies, and LENNON (2) was making a break for it, she watched in horror as a small family was eaten - somehow luckily leaving their small baby behind. LENNON (2) has taken the baby permanently under her care.

:: ISLAND CITIZENS ::

-- RONGO (1) - 65 - grandfather - traditional - enduring - loving - rawiri paratene

RONGO (1) has never approved of the PROPHETS' use of mōrearea's history as an advertisement technique. The living dead was nothing to laugh about, nothing to take lightly. They may have thought it was just a story, but RONGO (1) knows better. The tale has been passed down in his family for generations as a warning. Not that anyone these days takes heed. Not even his grandaughter, who he has been raising since her mother died giving birth to her, believed him. Until some tourist brought the curse of his gods back down upon them.

-- RONGO (2) - 15 - student - nuisance - adorable - driven - teilor grubbs

RONGO (2) never really paid much attention to her grandfather's warnings about the living dead, or his disapproval of the resort. In fact she loved the resort, she always met such interesting people. Despite this, she did love her grandfather, and was closer to him than most people were to their grandparents. He had raised her after all, her mother had died and she had no clue who her father was. Of course, when her grandfather turned out to be not crazy, RONGO (2) had no time to apologise. She was too busy fighting for her life. He came to her rescue, but even she knows this is going to be a tough one to fix.

TE TANIWHA here certainly lives up to his name. The Monster. He is a tall, muscular, beast of a man who, though having a short temper, is actually quite tender. He is quite traditional when it comes to his culture, and like that old bastard RONGO (1) never approved of the resort exploiting the islands dark history to make money. Not that he spends too much time around the old man, because where he is, the girl is and 15 years is such a long time to keep from someone that you're their father that bringing it up now would be cruel and probably cause unnecessary drama. Thankfully, zombies rose up and distracted them all from that. Able to cave in a zombie head with one blow, TE TANIWHA isn't really too worried about them.

MAYA KAHU (1) - 24 - hostess - serious - determined - stressed - phoebe tonkin

With her parents safely off the island, at some sort of family do, KAHU (1) is thankfully not too worried about their well being. Her own, on the other hand, and that of her older brother is in the forefront of her mind. She and KAHU (2) were put in charge of the family restaurant while their parents went to mainland New Zealand for the week, and somehow managed to let the apocalypse happen on their watch. For now the restaurant's a good hiding place, but they can't stay there forever...

KAHU (2) has always been a big brother, and honestly he doesn't really know how to be anything else. When his parents took off for the week and left him and his sister in charge, he quite easily slipped into a manager's role, both with the restaurant and his sister. Despite the fact that they haven't lived together for some years now, old habits die hard. And when the outbreak started, he made her first priority. They're both holed up in the restaurant for now, but it's almost time to hunt for supplies.

Though she owns a book store, and does love to read, the beautiful WAIATA is anything but quiet and bookish. She was born and raised on the island and had heard RONGO (1)'s warnings since she was a kid. Unlike most of the other island citizens, WAIATA did not dismiss them as the ramblings of a crazy old man. She knew the history of her people and she knew he was right. So when the undead horde did rise again, she was prepared. You'll be hard pressed to find a woman more suited to battle than WAIATA. Her name may mean song, but she is a warrior at heart.

TUHUROTA expected more from his life than 'shop boy' but somehow managed to find himself stuck working in a shop that sold crappy "native" knick knacks to tourists. Still, it was better than nothing. Hell, he'd give anything now to be a 'shop boy' again instead of 'potential zombie food'. Armed only with a walking stick and a trash can lid,
TUHUROTA'S not feeling to good about his chances of survival.

::MILITARY PERSONNEL::

-- KING - 45 - colonel - intellegent - tough - honest - david ramsey

Colonel KING was chosen to lead a small military group into the infected island of mōrearea. He did not get to choose his team members but he knows them all to be highly skilled and loyal soldiers. KING is a highly skilled professional and loyal to a fault. The job was fairly simple, if not dangerous. Get onto the island, contain the situation and wait for backup. Of course, comms went down, transport became impossible and backup never showed. KING has no idea why he and his team were abandoned in this god forsaken place, but he does know that 8 soldiers against an entire island of living dead aren't great odds.

-- CALDER - 34 - captain - alluring - distrusting - lethal - michelle rodriguez

While loyal and trusting of her team, Capt. CALDER is not so trusting of any survivors she might meet. She's seen enough zombie movies to know they'll be desperate and stupid. As second in command she is closest with KING. With her own team mates and people she trusts, she is flirty and friendly, but do not get on her bad side. She can kill you with her pinky. Their mission was simple, though it seems they were betrayed. By who, none of them knew. CALDER knows only that if she's stuck there, she's going to take down as many undead creeps as she possibly can.

-- MARTIN - 35 - first lieutenant - dashing - funny - heroic - DJ Cotrona

Lt. MARTIN is generally a very easy going man. Strange for a soldier but true. It irks him a bit that a woman younger than him currently outranks him - though she is from a completely different regiment to him - and enjoys making digs at her that are slightly less than respectful. He means well, mostly. He's still having trouble adjusting to the fact that a) zombies are real and he is actually doing battle with them, and b) that he and the rest of the team have been left to die of zombieism. MARTIN has a tendency to act the hero, constantly putting himself on the line for the sake of others, though he is constantly reminded that one of these days he's going to get himself killed.

-- LEHANE - 33 - second lieutenant - respectful - dutiful - deadly - zoe saldana

Just as deadly as CALDER, the two women do not really get along. There is a begrudging respect for each other's skills, and LEHANE knows to respect CALDER's authority, but that is as far as it goes. Perhaps it is two strong female personalities clashing, who knows, but it is very tense between them. Only the threat of being gnawed on by a zombie keeps them trusting each other as much as they do. To everyone else, LEHANE is generally a friendly person, quite trusting and caring.

-- SMITH - 32 - medical specialist - skillful - empathetic - opinionated - eliza dushku

Every team needs a med specialist. Even if a bullet to the brain is the only way to cure a zombie bite, there are other dangers out there. Friendly fire, not so friendly fire etc etc. But just because she's a medic doesn't mean she can't fight. She's as proficient at firearms as any member of the team, just less willing to use them on actual living people. Now that it turns out there will be no backup, SMITH is trying to ration her medical supplies. Who knows how long they'll be out here? And who knows how long they'd last without at least basic medical care.

ANDREW SCOTT (2) - 40 - weapons specialist/sniper - precise - devoted - dangerous - ryan phillippe

One of the greatest snipers in the world, it's easy to see why SCOTT (2) was chosen for this particular assignment. Of course,he requested it when he realised his kid brother was trapped on the island, but no one was going to tell him no. Few other people in the world can make a head shot at over a thousand feet and none of them are volunteering. He'd never put his team in a position that left them defenseless but he does plan on saving his brother... assuming he can find him.
